Good question! It would be easier to stay at home and stick to your normal routine. There are millions of people around the world living below the poverty line and suffering because their basic needs are not met. You can directly help someone in need of food, clothing, shelter or education.
Break out of the old “cannot get a job without experience, cannot get experience without a job” cycle by getting some international work and travel experience.
See a part of the world and do things that are different than anything you have encountered before.
Get out of the tourist traps and into the lives of local people. Live and work immersed in the culture and see the world through others’ eyes.
Travelling around the world to a foreign land and learning about a new culture and language is not easy. Allow the difficulties and hurdles encountered to teach you more about yourself and to develop your character.
Your time and money will not go to waste. Whether you are helping to preserve a delicate ecological system or teaching a child to read, the people and the country will feel the real and positive effects of your efforts.
Our programs provide you with the in-country support you need to be able to deal with cultural differences and challenges resulting from working in an unfamiliar environment. Our full-time coordinators are available to help with anything our volunteers need in order to have a successful experience when volunteering.
We provide coordination of every detail of the volunteer stay abroad. Airport transfers, housing arrangements, research of and volunteer placement in non-profit organizations, orientation, work schedule, feedback and planning sessions, language classes and much more!
